The Aug issue of CLEO had a very interesting article on ’45 places that let you get away without going away’ and one of the places is this ‘secret’ coffee place called Papa Palheta. Adrian and I went hunting for it on Teacher’s Day since we were in the area. They don’t really sell coffee there. You can drink the coffee and a tip of at least $3.50 for each drink is suggested but what they want is for you to taste the coffee and then buy the coffee beans. The coffee beans used there are certified by the Rainforest Alliance and are environmentally sustainable. The coffee is good so we bought a pack of Sumatra Mandheling for my mom.
