Shortly after we arrived in Penang on Monday afternoon, we made our way to Kafe Heng Huat at Lorong Selamat to eat the char kway teow that is said to be the best in Penang. It was good! The wok hei was there, the prawns were large and fresh and the bean sprouts were crunchy. I would have liked more cockles and lup cheong though. But on the whole, it was satisfying, albeit expensive at RM8.
After the CKT, we walked down the street and had some prawn noodles, ice kachang and cendol. All very decent although the cendol could have done with more gula melaka.
