Disney Junior‘s original series Doc McStuffins is premiering in Singapore on Monday, 9 July at 9.30am! Doc McStuffins is a lively 6-year-old who talks to and heals toys. She runs a clinic for toys out of her playhouse and is assisted by Stuffy, an overly proud dragon, Lambie, a cute cuddly lamb, Hallie, a jolly hippo, and Chilly, a hypochondriac snowman.
Each episode of Doc McStuffins includes catchy original songs and loads of wholesome values. While the main message is about healthy living, other values such as compassion for others and a sense of community are modelled as well.
We were invited to a preview of Doc McStuffins yesterday and watched a few episodes of the series. The kids were captivated and the adults were pretty impressed too. In just one particular episode, we learnt about the importance of staying hydrated and of being kind to younger siblings.
I like that the show strives to teach children how to take care of themselves and others. The emphasis on mending and fixing toys when they are broken instead of throwing them away is also very appropriate since kids these days have so many toys and still want to get new ones all the time.
I think Anya can definitely relate to Doc McStuffins. She has a doctor toy set that she enjoys playing with and she’s constantly trying to give me injections and take my blood pressure. She had a good time watching Doc McStuffins at the preview and is looking forward to more!
Remember to catch Doc McStuffins on Monday at 9.30am! It’s followed by Toy Story 3 at 10am and will be repeated at 1.15pm and 8pm.
Look out for a question after the episode ends at 10am and stand to win a cute lunch box in the Doc McStuffins Watch & Win contest.
