My aunt was on leave on Friday so we brought the kids to Tickle Tickle, an indoor playground located within Delta Sports Complex.
The playground area is quite small and has slides, a tiny ball pit, tunnels, swinging cylinders and some other soft obstacles. Anya didn’t spend that much time in the playground area because it is rather cramp and there were a lot of kids running around inside.
There are also four smaller play areas supposedly for role-playing (home, cafe, supermarket and workshop) with toys from Early Learning Centre and Melissa & Doug.
The toys are good quality wooden toys and the concept of having four theme areas for children to carry out role-play is quite an interesting one. However, the toys were strewn all over the place and not where they belonged!
There is a table with a doll house, a tree house and a caravan. They are all really cute but contain small parts that definitely pose a hazard to kids below 3. I had to fish out little pieces of doll house furniture from Adam’s mouth a couple of times! There are one or two toys appropriate for children below 3.
There’s also a small room for birthday parties and the party packages are quite flexible in that you only have to pay for children that turn up. But exclusive use of the playground for the party is still quite expensive considering that food, cake, goody bags, party host, etc. are all not included.
Tickle Tickle is one of the cheaper indoor playgrounds around and it would be great for a private birthday party where everything is properly set up and the toys are all in the right place.
Otherwise, it is just too small and too chaotic. There was absolutely no supervision from the staff when I was there and some of the toys are already missing parts or damaged even though the place has only been open for less than 2 weeks.
I don’t think I’ll be bringing the kids there again unless I happen to be free before 5pm on a weekday and it’s not a school holiday/ public holiday or someone invites us to a party with exclusive use of the playground.
Tickle Tickle is open from 10am to 8pm daily. Admission fee is $12 until 31 Oct (usual price $14) for unlimited play on weekdays and 2 hours of play on weekends/ public holidays. Adults enter free if accompanying a paying child.
