Adrian had to work on New Year’s Eve so Fifi came by to pick me and the kids up and we went to The Grandstand (what used to be Turf City). I’d been to Fidgets once a long time ago before Anya started walking and wasn’t very impressed then because the baby area was small and kept being invaded by the larger kids.
We had a hard time finding the place because various bits of The Grandstand are under renovation and the lifts were very confusing. We managed to find Fidgets after a bit of a hunt. Anya had fun climbing up and down and running all around. Adam couldn’t really get around the main playground area very well so he kept mainly to the baby area. Fifi and I went crazy tearing up and down the place with the kids on the ride-on toy cars.
Fidgets is in pretty decent condition for the time being but is starting to show its age. so some upgrading would be needed soon. The ride-on toy vehicles have certainly seen better days and most are missing parts. It’s still much better than Peek-a-boo which we went to on Christmas Eve. THAT place is held together by duct tape and cable ties.
We’ll probably return to Fidgets because it’s very near our place and it’s good for rainy days when we’re stuck indoors and don’t want to drive out too far. Anya definitely had fun and there will be more for Adam to do as he gets older.
